The fluorescent tubes that the tertiary sector consumes in immense quantities are thrown away when they no longer provide good lighting. However, they remain excellent broadcasters.
It is a gentle retirement which is given to these obsolete tubes, since they only play the role of lampshade in order to soften the light of the new generation LED tubes placed in the center of the lamp.

When our partner Knauf Industries produces its expanded polystyrene packaging, the first prints never reach perfection. These failures are therefore crushed by a unique over-expansion process, which allows the polystyrene to find a new lease of life and a new shape within our turntables. The protective role of polystyrene against shocks and vibrations is an asset that fragile fluorescent tubes could not refuse.

During digital cutting, sheet metal workshops fight to nest the parts together in order to optimize the surface of the steel sheets. This nesting is called an amalgam. However, even the most efficient software leaves certain areas unexploited, most often around the edges of the amalgams. The Polix pieces were designed to be long and abuttable to fit into these lost spaces.

The Polix is ​​not just a great example of upcycling, it is also a well-designed lamp. From mounting to the wall or hanging it, to changing the bulb, maintaining the Polix is ​​child's play.

The suspension is easily adjusted and it is attached to the wall using oblong holes which allow for really simple alignment and tightening. Opening the lamp to access the LED tubes is done in a quarter turn.
